Title
Digital geological map and geochronological database of the Cenozoic cover of t…
Abstract

The map displays the Cenozoic geological cartography and its geochronological database of the southern sector of the Mesa Central province. The rock units are organized as lithostratigraphic and chronostratigraphic units. The layers of geochronology correspond to K-Ar, U-Pb, Ar-Ar, and fission-track ages. The map also shows the Cenozoic faults of first and second order.

Purpose

This work was done to integrate in a single resource the latest advance about the geological cartography of the Mesa Central province. The map is thought to be a valuable tool that will support the advancement of geological knowledge of central Mexico. Also, the integration of an updated geochonological database will serve for the establishment of stratigraphic columns supported by isotopic ages that in turn can be correlated at the province level.
